Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author TV personality, philanthropist, and owner of the independently liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England with her family when she was the age of 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to become the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. When she graduated, she made her name as columnist in the conservative syndicated media as well as with the introduction of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online voice platform that provided critical views regarding the state of affairs. She was able to get many prominent contributors to share their thoughts on culture and politics. Arianna rose to fame in 2003 when she decided to stand for a non-partisan position in the California recall election to replace then Governor Davis. The project she headed was the Detroit automobile project that was fuel efficient. Forbes listed her 12th in their list of the Top influential women in the media. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their top 100 list in 2010. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her head of its media division and also included several additional AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos who was a journalist and management consultant. Even though she was close to her father, her connection to her mom shaped the rest of her life. At a young age she showed the qualities of a leader for which she's still known. When she was 16 she moved back to United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university, she belonged to Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first woman president, and also the only foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. After her graduation, she was an editor of the critic's column and a television host. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began writing her own books with his help.
