Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She founded The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, journalist, TV host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she was able to move to England at the age of sixteen and then graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first ever foreign-born student to hold the position of president of the highly regarded debate club The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take over the position. She became a conservative syndicated writer after her graduation. When The Huffington Post launched a couple of years later, she developed an online platform for voice that offered criticisms on the political landscape. The fame of her name helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to post their views on politics news and culture. Arianna was famous when she decided in 2003 to stand as an independent Candidate in the California Recall Election to replace former Governor Davis. In addition, she was also the leader of a Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient cars. Forbes declared her to be one of the "most powerful woman" in media with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 top media personalities in 2009. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her the president of their media company that also includes the other AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos, a journalist and management consultant. The way she lived her life was determined through her relationship with her mother as well as her relationship with her father despite being extremely close to him. Even in her formative age she demonstrated the leadership abilities and is a household name. When she was in her 16th year she returned to the UK to pursue her studies and was enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She joined Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college in which she became the third female to be elected the president. In 1972, she graduated with an MA in Economics. She worked as a critic television host, as well as a columnist following her graduation.
