April Ross

April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball players to have medals won at multiple Olympics. In Tokyo over the next several days she will attempt to net her third medal alongside fellow first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic Gold. She also helped the Trojans advance to into the Final Four. During her sophomore year she experienced a devastating personal tragedy, yet managed to make it back as an All-American. After two more seasons as a member of the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them to win two consecutive titles. In her own way, she had established herself as an all-time legend winning the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the nation's top female collegiate volleyball player. Ross took a course in the study of international relations in USC. However, Ross mom Margie did not get to see her daughter rise to the very top of beach volleyball superstardom. When Ross was in her sophomore year on the campus of USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. She still cherishes her parents who passed away.
